From the recording Fire In My Heart
Described by an impressed fan as the sound of K's vocal surfing down the face of a huge sonic wave thundering toward the beach, Fire In My Heart was first performed by the rock duo K Darling in 1983 in front of a packed house when they opened for The Ramones (of punk rock fame) at Reds, a large Eighties dance club in Nassau County, Long Island, NY.
A regional dance club hit, K Darling's Fire In My Heart drew stylistic influence from David Bowie and Roxy Music and, along with records by Stevie Nicks, Eurythmics and Roxette, helped define the Dance-Rock genre of the early Eighties with its fusion of impassioned pop vocals, symphonic synthesizers, soaring rock guitars and deep no-nonsense bass.
