Written by Finocarro and Darling and produced by Jimmi Hood (under his birth name James R. Glaser), Fire In My Heart was released in 1983 as a 12" vinyl single on the group’s Kadar Records label. It was noted as a First-Time-Around “Pick” by Billboard magazine and became a regional hit in the New York metropolitan area dance clubs. Recorded in analogue and digitized from the vinyl 12", K Darling's Fire In My Heart drew stylistic influence from David Bowie and Roxy Music and, along with records by Blondie, Eurythmics, and The Human League, helped define the Hi NRG/ Dance-Rock genres of the early Eighties with its fusion of impassioned vocals, symphonic synthesizers, soaring rock guitars and deep, no-nonsense bass.
