Fire In My Heart
K Darling
Described by an impressed fan as the sound of K's vocal surfing down the face of a huge sonic wave thundering toward the beach, Fire In My Heart was first performed by the rock duo K Darling in 1983 in front of a packed house when they opened for the Ramones (of punk rock fame) at Reds, a large Eighties dance club in Nassau County, Long island, NY.
A regional dance club hit, K Darling's Fire In My Heart drew stylistic influence from David Bowie and Roxy Music and, along with records by Stevie Nicks, Eurythmics, and Roxette, helped define the Dance-Rock genre of the early Eighties with its fusion of impassioned vocals, symphonic synthesizers, soaring rock guitars and deep no-nonsense bass.
