From the recording My Vampire Kiss (Emergency)
Opening with the distant wail of K's film noir sax line and the slow predatory pulse of shadowy back-alley bayou blues, K Darling's My Vampire Kiss (Emergency) evokes an uneasy sense of rhythmic voodoo and uses D Finoarro's eerie repetitive guitar harmonics to indicate this is no ordinary forlorn lover's tune.
This is haunting, outside-the-box blues rock that could easily be the soundtrack to one of Ann Rice's New Orleans-based vampire chronicles. The cat n' mouse interplay between K's seductive voice-overs and D's incendiary lead guitar work entices, excites and distracts just long enough to reveal the unanticipated Vampire Kiss has already occurred. Be warned:)
